A. Kish KAM Announces MarketKentuckySM As Eighth Branded Advocacy Initiative Frankfort – The Kentucky Association of Manufacturers (KAM) has announced the creation of its eighth branded advocacy initiative, MarketKentuckySM, under which KAM will help the manufacturing industry market its products in Kentucky, the U.S. and around the world. “We are making progress in helping our members lower their costs and hire better workers, but we also need to help them find new markets for their products so our industry’s contribution to the state gross product continues to grow,” says Jim LeMaster, president and CEO. Manufacturing, the Commonwealth’s number one industry by more than a two-to-one margin, contributed $27 billion to the Kentucky gross product in 2006, up $1 billion from 2005, according to state government data. “As our productivity and efficiency continue to increase, there’s no reason why we can’t surpass our peak $29 billion in output reached in 1997, LeMaster said. “By connecting our members to new local, regional, national and global markets, KAM can help them expand even faster.” LeMaster said KAM has its own marketing consulting expertise and also plans to form partnerships with other organizations and businesses to provide its members with additional resources. MarketKentuckySM joins seven other trademarked, branded initiatives KAM formed in 2006 “to better organize and communicate our advocacy program,” LeMaster said. The other initiatives include ProsperousKentuckySM, ProductiveKentuckySM, FreedomKentuckySM, SmartKentuckySM, HealthyKentuckySM, HonestKentuckySM and CleanKentuckySM.
