Powerful New Videos Tell 'Truth' About
Policy Issues Impacting Manufacturing Jobs
Frankfort - The Kentucky Association of Manufacturers (KAM) is going all-out to ensure Kentuckians know and understand the key policy issues impacting manufacturing, the state's number one industry and economic driver, says Jim LeMaster, president and CEO.
As part of its exclusive role as the host of the Kentucky Prosperity Project, an interactive, educational website, KAM has produced seven new videos on public policy issues impacting the Kentucky manufacturing industry. They are now posted on "You Tube" as well as www.kentuckyprosperity.org, www.kamanufacturers.com and Insight Cable's "Video on Demand" channel in the Lexington and Louisville markets.
"As the 2008 election approaches, Kentuckians need to understand that there are real public policy threats to manufacturing and their future prosperity," says LeMaster. "Policies that raise taxes, increase regulations, drive health care or energy costs higher, take away worker freedom or make government bigger are not good for the future of industry or Kentucky's economy," he says.
"Instead, we need to be doing all we can to help lower costs for Kentucky manufacturers," LeMaster says. "Otherwise, they will be tempted to leave our state and make products in places where costs are lower... places like China, India or Mexico."
The videos, produced by Seersucker Productions of Versailles, Ky., feature special visual and sound effects and feature Russell Wyndham of Louisville as the on-camera spokesperson. They were shot on a Central Kentucky horse farm.
