Ken Carroll to Direct Kentucky Prosperity Project (www.kentuckyprosperity.org);
Tim Savage named Membership Director for the Association of Manufacturers

Frankfort -- Ken Carroll has joined the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers (KAM) as a contractor to direct its Kentucky Prosperity Project (www.kentuckyprosperity.org), a new grassroots employee education program, and Tim Savage has joined KAM as membership director, according to Jim LeMaster, president and CEO.

“We are very pleased to have two blue-chip professionals join our team,” says LeMaster. "Tim Savage brings nine years of experience in sales and business ownership to KAM. Ken Carroll has a wealth of experience in manufacturing, education and economic development,” says LeMaster.

“Ken and Tim fit right in with our team of former business people who personally have experienced the challenges of running or managing a business," says LeMaster. "This direct business experience sets KAM apart from other associations.”

Prior to joining KAM, Carroll was manager of industry education operations for the University of Kentucky Center for Manufacturing. His past career stops include executive director of the Bluegrass State Skills Corp.; the Legislative Research Commission; as well as work in retailing, construction and manufacturing.

Carroll is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and has lean systems certification. He is a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (AMP); has served as chairman of the Frankfort/Franklin County Tourist & Convention Commission and as a member of the Kentucky Association for Economic Development.

Before joining KAM, Savage ran his own sales consulting business and has experience in automotive, industrial hygiene, fund raising, events and promotions, film, print, internet ad sales and creative marketing. He also founded TalentTactics, a market research firm, and was a consultant for Kenexa.

Savage has a bachelor's degree in liberal studies from West Chester University, West Chester, PA. He has served as the professional development chair for the Lexington Young Professionals Association.
