Advanced Manufacturing Partnership Names Officers, Executive Committee
Frankfort – The Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (AMP) has named its first officers and executive committee after adopting by-laws at recent board meetings.
AMP named Martin Kish of the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers as its president; Rich Alloo of Toyota as vice president and Dr. Keith Bird of KCTCS as treasurer/secretary.
In addition to Kish, Alloo and Bird, AMP’s executive committee consists of Dr. Bruce Walcott of the U.K. Center for Manufacturing, Lexington; Billy Ray Hughes of GR Spring and Stamping, Richmond; Bryan Sunderland, Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Frankfort; Bob McWilliams, Kentucky Education Cabinet, Frankfort; and Deborah Clayton, Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development.
According to AMP’s by-laws, the group was established to “facilitate economic growth across the Commonwealth through the creation of a sustainable economic climate that attracts, develops, grows, and retains advanced manufacturing enterprises and creates globally competitive opportunities for all our residents.”
“AMP uniquely brings together industry, government and education leaders to lead policy change and implement programs across Kentucky that will promote and grow advanced manufacturing,” Kish said. “Success of this effort is critical to the long-term viability of Kentucky’s economy and prosperity because manufacturing is, by far, Kentucky’s largest industry.”
