The Kentucky Association of Manufacturers will address economic concerns at the Third Annual Manufacturing/Legislative Summit

LOUISVILLE - Governor Steve Beshear has been confirmed as the keynote speaker at the ProsperousKentuckysm 2009 Manufacturing/Legislative Summit in Frankfort on Monday, Feb. 9, according to Jim LeMaster, president and CEO of the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers (KAM).

Beshear headlines a "who's who" list of speakers representing Kentucky's top government officials, top corporate brands and manufacturing award-winning companies. "We are going to work with our elected officials to find ways to help our companies invest in new, high-speed production equipment, information technology and other capital projects," LeMaster says. "This will help them compete better in the global economy against low wage nations."

The economy and loss of jobs and opportunities is a concern for all businesses in Kentucky. KAM has lined up speakers who can address those concerns and offer strategies to improve productivity to help businesses become more profitable for this year's Summit.

At the third annual ProsperousKentuckysm 2009 Manufacturing Summit, we will bring manufacturers, educators, policy makers and legislators together to discover opportunities for collaboration to find our path to prosperity." said LeMaster.

The Summit and Trade Show are presented by Greenebaum Doll & McDonald. The lunch is sponsored by BB&T Insurance Services and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. The event will be from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Capital Plaza Hotel (including a lunch), followed by a tour of the Capitol, a brief viewing of a session of the General Assembly and concluding with a legislative reception from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Capital Plaza Ballroom.
