JAMES W. 'JITTER' ALLEN
Director - Frankfort Operations

James W. 'Jitter' Allen joined the staff of Kentucky Association of Manufacturers in 1988 as Director-Frankfort Operations. Allen's duties include monitoring the activities and legislation of state agencies and overseeing the daily operation of theFrankfort branch office of the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers.

Prior to joining the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers, Allen held positions in state government, serving the administration of Governor Martha Layne Collins as Senior Administrative Assistant. In this position, he was a liaison with the General Assembly. Prior to his position there, he was Principal Assistant for the Cabinet for Human Resources.

From 1976 to 1979, Allen served as State Representative for the 95th Legislative District. During his term in the General Assembly, Allen held the positions of Vice Chairman of Natural Resources and Chairman of the Federal Surface Mining Subcommittee. He was also a member of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, Appropriations and Revenue Committee, and the Kentucky Democratic Executive Committee. Because of his active role in the legislature, Allen was chosen to be a delegate for the 1976 Democratic National Convention.

A native of Martin, Kentucky, Allen is an alumnus of Morehead State College, Pikeville College and Eastern Kentucky University.
