Rick Dunaway Following the motto in the plant - "I Make It Happen", Rick Dunaway and his team get the job done no matter what the challenge or problem. It is this dedication and pride in their accomplishments that Dunaway says makes his job easier as Team Leader at LINAK U.S. Inc. LINAK is an international company, founded on a simple principle - Electric Linear Actuation. The North & South American. Headquarters for LINAK are located in Louisville and the company has been a supportive member of the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers since 2005. Dunaway has been employed at LINAK for five years and in his present position of Team Leader and CNC Operator in the machining department, he oversees the quality and production in the Machine Shop. The CNC machine he operates cuts and threads stainless steel tubing to be used in the production department. Dunaway has more than 30 years of experience in various manufacturing jobs, including management, assembly work, and machine operator. A native of Tennessee, Dunaway comes from a manufacturing family. His father and uncles worked for Ford Glass and his grandfathers for DuPont. Following in their footsteps, Dunaway began his career as a meat packer with Oscar Meyer. In 1973 he moved to Kentucky to work for Ford Motor Company at their Louisville Truck Plant and then later for LINAK. From
his first day on the job at LINAK, Dunaway found the plant to be,
"a very friendly environment to work in and that people were
always trying to help each other". In fact, when asked about
the "coolest" part of his job, emphatically he said, "The
people!!!" Outside
of LINAK, Dunaway enjoys boating, fishing, and gardening. He also
spends time 'getting creative' in his garage and building things
out of wood, like the swing he built for he and wife, Millie, to
swing near their fish pond. Rick’s List of Favorites Favorite
